Busan is one of the most beautiful cities in Korea, especially beloved by foreigners as a travel destination.

The city’s seas, delicious food, and diverse cultural experiences offer travelers unforgettable memories.

Today, I’d like to introduce some must-visit places in Busan for foreigners who wish  to travel to this vibrant city.

Busan is a coastal city located on the southern edge of the Korean peninsula, known for its stunning views of the blue sea and beautiful beaches. As a maritime city, Busan has its charm with various marine sports and maritime festivals held throughout the year. In particular, during the summer, it is the perfect place to enjoy beach activities and marine adventures. Busan attracts many tourists every year, and the reasons are all tied to its many attractions.

1. Popular Tourist Destinations in Busan
There is so much to do in Busan, and I’d like to introduce a few popular destinations that foreigners particularly love.

A. Haeundae Beach: Haeundae is the most famous beach in Busan, bustling with many tourists during the summer. There are plenty of high-end restaurants and cafes around Haeundae, where you can relax while enjoying the beautiful sea view.

B. Jagalchi Market: This is Busan's representative seafood market, where you can enjoy fresh seafood at affordable prices. It’s also fun to explore and see all the different types of seafood.

C. Gamcheon Culture Village: This village, with its colorful houses perched on the hills, is a perfect spot for taking photos. The unique murals and charming alleys make it an attractive place to visit.

D. Busan Tower: The observation deck at Busan Tower offers a panoramic view of the city. Its night view is particularly beautiful, making it a great spot for couples to visit.

E. Songdo Marine Cable Car: The view from the cable car crossing over the sea is truly magnificent. You can enjoy both the sea and city scenery, which makes it a popular attraction.

2. Recommended Travel Itinerary in Busan

If you’re short on time in Busan, it’s a good idea to plan your itinerary around the major attractions. For example, I recommend a 3-day, 2-night itinerary:

Day 1: Haeundae Beach -> Dongbaek Island -> Cheongsapo Beach Train
Day 2: Jagalchi Market -> Gukje Market -> Songdo Marine Cable Car
Day 3: Gijang Yeonhwa-ri Seafood -> Haedong Yonggungsa Temple -> Songjeong Beach

This itinerary allows you to experience Busan's most famous landmarks without missing out on anything.

3. Special Activities in Busan
Busan offers various special activities. There are many places where you can enjoy marine sports like surfing, paddleboarding, and jet skiing during the summer in Songjeong Beach. Additionally, Busan hosts various annual festivals, and the Busan Fireworks Festival is a must-see highlight.

4. Busan’s Famous Eateries and Foods
Busan is famous for its seafood dishes. Raw fish (hoe) and grilled shellfish are must-try foods.

You can enjoy fresh raw fish at restaurants near Jagalchi Market. Don’t forget to try Busan's representative street food, seed-filled hotteok.

Additionally, Busan’s milmyeon (wheat noodles) and pig’s soup (dwaeji gukbap) are unique dishes that can only be experienced here, so be sure to give them a try.

5. Travel Tips and Precautions
Since many tourists visit Busan during the summer, it’s a good idea to book your accommodation in advance. The public transportation system, including buses and subways, is well-connected, making it

easy to get around.

Finally, learning a few basic greetings in the local dialect will make you feel even more welcomed by the residents.

Busan is a charming city that offers unforgettable experiences for foreign visitors. This summer, why not embark on a trip to Busan!
